I've been playing Stronghold for a year now. I find it a bit too quick, even more compared to many other MMO. But then again, new players are disadvantaged your armies are quite slow while your foes can be at your doors in less than 10 minutes (even less if they are close to you). And that's a shame, because the management system is a bit complex and quite interesting ! That being said, it is really nice for people who like PvP. Except if you don't care starting afresh every other month. Or, maybe, invest a lot of money to catch up with other players. It's to destroy other players so they don't destroy you first. So, I'm quite sure the ony way to enjoy that game is to start playing from the very beginning of each world. After being asked, he just didn't like the fact that I began to be a bit more too powerful in my county. After growing again, my village was burnt to the ground by another player, fur apparently no other reason than fun. So, I had to just begin again, from the (almost) very beginning. After 2 months, when my village just began to be big enough, a player took it from me. And it is really not done for casual players. But as was said many a time, it is NOT a sim game. After growing This game has some really interesting stuff in it. Join a Faction – Fight with friends to capture villages and return with their banners, offering glory and extra tax income to the winners. This game has some really interesting stuff in it.Complex Research Tree – Discover new technology to drive your village down the path of farmer, trader, diplomat, warlord and more.Community Focus – multiple ways to play with friends and foes, from joining up together under a single parish and working together to create a community hub, or ransacking your foes and defending your castle against enemy attack.Real-Time PvP – battle can happen at any time, meaning that there’s danger even when you’re not online. The game also offers many ways to interact with other players, including parishes that can levy taxes and offer benefits to your villages, resource trading, scouting, multi-language chatrooms, ransacking, and in-depth ranking systems. Similar to The Settlers Online: Castle Empire, the game focuses heavily on resource management, making its resource pipeline in-depth and rewarding to master. The game begins with a single village under advisement by the game’s tutorial character, leading into a relatively short tutorial that shows some basics of the game but allows players to take the reins relatively quickly in comparison to many RTS game introductions. To play, a quick download and install is required, but is rather small in size compared to modern games, standing around 10MB as a final download. Stronghold Kingdoms is a standalone, free-to-play medieval MMORTS developed by Firefly Studios, acting as an MMO version of their already popular and commercially successful Stronghold series of RTS games.
